These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Foundr (“Foundr,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), including our website, platform, mobile services, and any related features (collectively, the “Services”). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use Foundr.
ELIGIBILITY
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction, to use Foundr. By using the Services, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you use .edu or ID verification, you confirm that the information provided is accurate and belongs to you.
ACCOUNT REGISTRATION
You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
USER CONDUCT
Users agree not to:Post false, misleading, or fraudulent informationImpersonate any person or organization Harass, threaten, or abuse other usersAttempt to hack, disrupt, or exploit the ServicesUse bots, automation, or spam tacticsUpload malicious files or code Violate any applicable laws Foundr may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules at our discretion.
STARTUP CONTENT AND USER CONTENT
You may post startup descriptions, roles, updates, applications, funding requests, or other content (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant Foundr a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, host, and use that content solely to operate and improve the Services.You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content you post. Foundr is not responsible for any claims or disputes arising from your User Content.
MATCHING, COLLABORATION, AND TEAM FORMATION
Foundr may recommend collaborators or startups based on your profile and activity. These recommendations are not endorsements. Any agreements, roles, compensation, equity arrangements, or decisions between users occur entirely at your own risk and are not guaranteed or overseen by Foundr.
FUNDING AND FINANCIAL INTERACTIONS
Foundr may allow users to contribute funds, offer micro-support, or financially back a startup. All funding arrangements are strictly between users. Foundr is not responsible for the success of any project, the accuracy of any startup information, or the outcome of any financial arrangement or agreement made between users.
Foundr may charge transaction fees for funding features. Users agree that Foundr is not liable for lost funds, disputes, unfulfilled promises, or project failure.
PAYMENTS AND SUBSCRIPTIONS
If Foundr offers paid subscriptions or premium features, payments will be billed through authorized payment processors. By subscribing, you agree to the applicable pricing and billing terms. Refunds, if applicable, are governed by Foundr’s Refund Policy.
SAFETY AND VERIFICATION
Foundr may use .edu verification, ID checks, machine learning, and behavioral detection to reduce bots or fraudulent accounts. Verification does not guarantee a user’s legitimacy, identity, or intentions. Users must still use caution when interacting with others online.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All Foundr trademarks, logos, designs, and software are owned by Foundr or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or exploit any part of the Services without our written permission.
TERMINATION
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violating these Terms or for suspicious or harmful activity. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, certain rights and obligations will survive, including our rights regarding User Content already displayed or shared.
DISCLAIMERS
Foundr is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no guarantees about:The accuracy or reliability of user profiles or startup informationThe availability or performance of the platformSuccessful team formation, funding, or project outcomesSafety or identity of other usersYou use Foundr at your own risk.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Foundr is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost opportunities, data loss, or claims arising from interactions with other users.
Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to Foundr in the past 12 months, if any.
INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to defend and hold harmless Foundr from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Services, your User Content, your interactions with other users, or your violation of these Terms.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Foundr may link to or use third-party services such as payment processors, hosting providers, or analytics tools. We are not responsible for the practices or policies of these third parties.
CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
